"I first discovered this program browsing through the Internet for Veteran opportunities. As a recent Graduate with five years of military experience, I expected to get into the perfect career promptly after receiving a B.S. in Computer Science
Wow, where do I begin? The HFUSV Program did wonders for me. I was introduced to the program by a church member who happened to be the President and Owner, of Hope For U.S. Veterans, Phil Johnson. The concern he showed towards me, having injured my back and forced to change careers. Phil overwhelmed me in a good way with the opportunity being a Veteran, he explained that the program would give me the tools I needed for a new career. Unfortunately because of the ten year time constraint I was unable to use any VA benefits but that did not stop Phil from going above and beyond to get me into the program. I am eternally grateful for the leaps and bounds Phil went through to assure my success such as taking care of Lodging, Schooling and transportation when needed. That’s the type of person Phil is and the backbone behind Hope For U.S. Veterans. The program itself was a great experience for me. I was able to meet new people and forge lifelong friendships among my classmates as well as the instructors. The instructors were excellent with a wealth of knowledge along with on the job personal experience, so I gained a strong understanding of what it would be like in a real world situation. The instructors also addressed our concerns on a personal level and provided us the opportunity to be a part of some on the job training experience as well. Not only did we receive IT lecture and hands on lab classes the program supplied a management class that prepared us to be able to accept an administrative position and was well worth the time. I was also provided a laptop to help study and take home at the end and the icing on the cake when I received a signed letter of intent for job placement from an Affiliate Company of HFUSV, which made this program all that much better knowing I would have a job to look forward to when I was finished.
I thoroughly enjoyed the program and the guidance from the instructors as well as the administrators and for what it had to offer I would recommend the HFUSV program to anyone especially to our Veterans coming home.
